  1. V&A is running two SEND-friendly creative workshops this month. The first, Sensory Design: Assemble will take place at Young V&A on the 1st, while Sensory Friendly: Design and Draw with Light will be at the South Kensington site on the 22nd. Free.
  2. Barbican is hosting four Family Film Club screenings this month, with highlights including Tabby McTat with live music from Tara Franks of Tots Tunes on the 1st, International Women’s Day Shorts on the 8th and Fox and Hare Save the Forest on the 15th. Paid.
  3. The National Gallery’s Family Welcome Weekend to celebrate the Opening of its new Roden Centre for Creative Learning runs from 1st-2nd. Expect storytelling, musical performances, gallery tours, easel sketching, pigment mixing and lots more. Free.
  4. Head to Discover from 1st-3rd for World Book Day Costume Crafts with London College of Fashion. Join to craft a costume prop inspired by Nadia Shireen’s book characters and the centre’s Monster Funfair immersive adventure. Free with paid admission.
  5. Gallery No.32’s Winter Sculpture Park will be taking over the rewilded former Thamesmead golf course on weekends from 1st March to 26th April. Expect large-scale works by Poppy Whatmore, Liam Scully, Marcus Orlandi, Mariusz Wolny, Rachel Irons and many more. Free.
  6. Art After Dark: Spring Edition 2025 will transform London’s West End into a cosmic playground from 6th-8th. Iridescent asteroid-sized moon rocks are set to land in Piccadilly Circus, while two towering inflatable UV reactive sculptures will be positioned close by. Free.
  7. Chiffonnade will be showing at Polka from 6th-9th. This enchanting piece of dance theatre for ages 2+ deals with themes of growing up, blossoming, releasing oneself from the chrysalis, discovering the world and flying until eventually you find your freedom. Paid.
  8. Helen Oxenbury: Illustrating the Land of Childhood will be at Burgh House from 6th March to 14th December. The exhibition will showcase the author-illustrator’s original gouache paintings and sketches, including her modern reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. Free.
  9. Two Temple Place is hosting Wonky Sculptures: Family Workshop on the 8th. Take inspiration from the museum’s Lives Less Ordinary: Working-Class Britain Re-seen exhibition to create a community of wonky sculptures out of newspaper. Free.
  10. RIBA Baby: Bricks and Bubbles is back on the 11th, then on 14th-15th the centre is hosting Festival of the Future, a two-day festival for all ages featuring an interactive workshop by Matt + Fiona, collaborative design tasks, family storytelling and lots more. Free.
  11. The Craft of Carpentry: Drawing Life from Japan’s Forests is at Japan House from 12th March to 6th July. Expect evocative scents, hands-on opportunities to assemble ingenious wood joints yourself and a life-size reconstruction of the Sa-an teahouse in Kyoto. Free.
  12. Zines Forever! DIY Publications and Disability Justice will be at the Wellcome Collection from 14th March to 14th September. Handle and read the museum’s 1,300-strong collection of health- and disability-themed zines then make your own to add to the collection. Free.
  13. The RA is running two drop-in creative workshops this month. Head to Early Years Studio: People and Portraits with your under-5s on the 19th, then grab the whole family for Family Studio: Modernist Collage on the 23rd. Free.
  14. Head to Unicorn Theatre from 22nd March to 4th May for Beegu, an adaptation of Alexis Deacon’s much-loved tale about friendship for 3-7s. Then from 29th March to 19th April, Little Night transports toddlers into a fairytale world bursting with colour and joy. Paid.
  15. Elephant Family’s The Big Egg Hunt 2025 will be popping up across London from 24th March to 27th April. Use the app to ‘tick off’ more than 100 large-scale eggs designed by artists such as Anya Hindmarch, LUAP, Philip Colbert and more in locations across the capital. Free.
  16. Natural History Museum is hosting a Dino Disco on the 28th. Don a set of headphones and dance the evening away under Hintze Hall’s colossal whale. There’ll be tunes for kids and adults alike and a choice of three different DJs to choose from. Paid.
  17. Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition will run from 28th March to 29th June. Immerse yourself in a journey to the heart of Ancient Egypt through VR experiences, an interactive metaverse room and a hologram room showing the full mummification process. Paid.
  18. Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style is at the Design Museum from 28th March to 17th August. Visitors can explore more than 200 objects, from Pamela Anderson’s sensational Baywatch swimsuit to a selection of eye-catching men’s Speedos from the 1980s. Paid.
  19. The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt is back at Hampton Court Palace from 29th March to 21st April. Roam through lush gardens and find the 10 gold bunny statues. Match the names of influential characters to the red ribbons to solve the puzzle and win a chocolate treat. Paid.
  20. Pirates will be at the National Maritime Museum from 29th March to 4th January. The exhibition will explore the perception of piracy in popular culture as well as illuminating real-life figures, and examine why the idea of a pirate’s life still fascinates us today. Paid.
