  1. Head to the Southbank Centre on the 1st for Moomin 80: Everybody Is Welcome! Celebrate 80 years of the Moomins at this afternoon party, with games, singing, storytelling, dancing and music for the whole family to enjoy. Free.
  2. London Festival of Architecture returns from 1st-30th with a packed programme of family-friendly events and installations, including Picnic & Play with MATT+FIONA and Timberplay, and The Painted Picnic, a vibrant summer pavilion by acclaimed artist John Booth. Free.
  3. British Library is hosting three family events this month: Get Gardening! with your under-5 on the 6th, celebrate birds with illustrator Sharon King Chai in Brilliant Birds on the 7th, or share stories as part of Refugee Week in Stitching Stories on the 22nd (both ages 5+). Free.
  4. London Design Biennale 2025 will be at Somerset House from 6th-29th. Featuring world-leading design, innovation, creativity and research by up to 50 exhibitors from across the globe, the event will showcase today’s designers and ideas that will change our world. Paid.
  5. Nature Connected at King’s Cross runs from 6th-29th. Entirely controlled by living plants and affected by human interaction with nature, this free exhibition by sound and light artist Natural Symphony explores the profound connection between nature and humanity. Free.
  6. Now Gallery will host a London Festival of Architecture Takeover from 6th-29th. Three exhibitions will be displayed across the space – all exploring architecture as a tool for social justice and equity, and all centring the experiences of people that are often unheard. Free.
  7. Serpentine Pavilion 2025 by Marina Tabassum will be on display from 6th June to 10th August, alongside Play Pavilion Commission by Sir Peter Cook in partnership with the LEGO Group, which will be installed from 11th June to 10th August. Free.
  8. Mess It Up London returns to Crouch End’s Priory Park from 6th June to 29th August. Designed for ages 6 months and up, these messy-play sessions will feature paint, edible items, rainbow spaghetti, sand, jelly, mud, foam, flour water play and more. Paid.
  9. Family Fun: Fairy Festival will be at Leighton House on the 7th. Forage to build your tiny house, join in with fairy crafts, listen to live harp music perfect for fairy dancing, and enjoy storytelling with real fairies in Sally’s Garden. Don’t foget to wear your wings. Paid.
  10. London Open Gardens is back from 7th-8th. Gardens hosting children’s activities are listed here Gardens with playgrounds include Belgrave, Cleveland, Gloucester, Pembridge, Park and Portman squares; and Crescent, Queen’s Gate and Park Crescent gardens. Paid.

  13. Barbican’s Family Film Club will be screening lots of great films this month, including Ocean With David Attenborough on the 7th, The Wild Robot on the 14th, Moomins and the Midsummer Madness on the 21st and Flow + Pre-Film Yoga on the 28th. Paid.
  14. The Ice Cream Project returns to the Anya Hindmarch Village from 7th June to 16th August. The brand-new flavours – with a few return cameos – celebrate Anya’s favourite cult food brands, and you can even tuck into a Blind Tasting Tea at Anya Cafe. Paid.
  15. An exhibition of work by Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara will be at the Hayward Gallery from 10th June to 31st August. Featuring more than 150 works across various mediums, the exhibition will immerse audiences in Nara’s personal and creative worlds. Paid.
  16. The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall from 12th-16th, echoing how it was shown outdoors to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic. The gallery will also host Infinities Commission: Christelle Oyiri from 17th June to 25th August. Free.
  17. Whippersnappers’ Fairy and Pixie Land returns on weekends from 14th June to end of July. Designed for children aged 3-7, this Battle of the Dragons-themed experience will be filled with magic, Welsh Folklore, immersive activities and enchanting surprises. Paid.
  18. The RA’s Summer Exhibition 2025 runs from 17th June to 17th August. The gallery will also host Early Years Studio: Movement and Motion for under-5s on the 11th, and Family Studio: Cardboard Figures for families with children of all ages on the 15th. Paid/free.

  20. William Morris Gallery is hosting Family Day with Stories & Supper: A Dream Home for Refugee Week 2025 on the 21st. Design and decorate a Morris dream room to take home, and play with words and images to build a dream of a better world. Free.
  21. The Francis Crick Institute’s Discovery Day runs on the 21st. Expect a packed day of pop-up science fun, with chances to cook up a stem-cell potion, discover your immune-cell superpower, be wowed by epic science magic shows and lots more for ages 6-11. Free.
