Michael Rosen’s Birthday 23rd May

Children’s author, former Children’s Laureate and all-round legend Michael Rosen celebrates his 80th birthday this month, and the Southbank Centre is getting in on the action with a story-filled celebration in his honour. Aimed at ages 5+ and their families, this free, drop-in party will be jam-packed with silly rhymes, storytelling and special guests – including Michael himself, of course. Free, drop in.
Blizzard 27th-31st May

It might nearly be summer but there’s a blizzard blowing at the Queen Elizabeth Hall this half term. Performed by Canadian circus company FLIP Fabrique, this hypnotic acrobatic performance will take children aged 6+ and their families on a wild, poetic and gentle journey through the wonders of a winter storm.Tickets from £18.
DanceDanceDiscoPartyFunShow 30th May

Just the name of this high-octane disco makes us feel like dancing. Led by Prancer the Dancer, this all-ages daytime dance party will feature special guests from the worlds of cabaret and circus, dance routines to learn together and gymnastics ribbons a-plenty. Free.
The Maker 30th-31st May

Expect the unexpected, the magical and the strange in this playful new show for 5-10s and their families. Join Drexel, an idealist inventor, and his quietly brilliant servant, Pipe, as they try to invent something extraordinary, with plenty of eccentric physical comedy and visual surprises along the way. Tickets from £18.
