Shop for tiny treasures at Highgate’s small but perfectly formed Not So Big

Not So Big is now permanently closed but you can still shop online at notsobigshop.com

What?: Petite boutique stocking a stylish selection of designer kids’ goods. Named after Roald Dahl’s imaginary crocodile, this dinky Highgate favourite stocks fashion-forward clothing for newborns to teens, with covetable labels including Spanish brand Bobo Choses, conversational print master Mini Rodini, muted-hue maven Tocoto Vintage and Dutch casuals label Imps & Elfs. The matchbox-sized store also offers a small selection of footwear from brands such as Bobux and Saltwater Sandals, luxury bunny toys by Maileg and party accessories from Meri Meri.

Where?: Highgate High Street. Archway and Highgate (Northern) stations are both around a 13-minute walk away.

Price Range: From under a tenner for a cute pack of hair clips to £350 for a Woolrich winter parka. Toys cost between £20 and £40.

Best Bits: The shop is adorable and the selection is perfect. The sale is also absolutely brilliant with loads of massive reductions.

Worst Bits: There is barely room to swing a cat, let alone park a beast of a buggy, and the steps down to the changing rooms are about as pram-friendly as a Slip N Slide on a volcano.

Did We Buy?: We picked up a My Little Cozmo mustard vest and top in the sale for £15, down from £39.

Would We Come Back?: The sale is so good I’m tempted to grab a few more bits off the website for the autumn. We will definitely be back (with the more compact buggy) the next time we’re in the area.
